@my house

Today at my house finds us cleaning up after the storm on Saturday night.
About 2am Mia came bolting into our bedroom frightened by the crash outside her window. The noise had woken me but I though a poor neighbour's shed had had a small branch land on it or something.
WRONG!!!
It was in fact our shed that had just been annihilated by the neighbours 15m+  pine tree that decided to split down the middle.

This is what brought Mia bolting into us - another couple of metres and we would have been retrieving our daughter from the branches (someone was definately looking after her)

Plenty of new ventilation

There used to be a clothesline under there.

So after many hours spent on the phone to insurance comapnies and safety assessors clambouring around our backyard at 10:30pm last night, the tree and the remains of the clothesline are being removed to our front lawn while we await the truck to take everything away. This could be up to 2 weeks from now as there have been so many trees to be cut down that the mulch trucks cant keep up.

Just a little squished....

Although we have lost most of what was in the shed either from being flattened or water damage at least the house wasn't hit. - especially as it was revealed on demolishing the tree, that the tree only stopped falling because one of the branches drove itself more that a foot into the ground - again so thankful that it did not hit Mia's room.

Pity we dont have a fire place as this is only a quarter of the branches and the main trunk hasn't even been attmepted yet as the tree guys were called away to an emergency.

Free wood anyone?

Visit some other houses playing along here.

My goodness!!!!!!

Glad you're all okay. Our neighbours have a huge tree and this is my constant nightmare in a storm.

Wow, that was a bit of unwanted excitement! It is very scary when there are such close misses. So glad that everyone is safe at your house. Hope the clean up doesn't take too long.

Thanks for joining in again this week. Lou.

Holy Moly! You are right, thank god it didn't land on the house!
Yes we did manage to get home, via another detour. It still had water across the road but not so bad. The kids had fun anyway :)
